Chocolate fondue

Vegan Chocolate Fondue

Chocolate makes everything better! This chocolate fondue is fun to eat and a delicious way to elevate an evening or celebration.

This chocolate fondue should be prepared in a food processor rather than a blender to keep it smooth and runny. A blender will add too much air and result in a fluffy texture more like mousse. That being said, reducing the amount of water and blending will give you a luscious chocolate mousse.

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado
  • 6 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or yacon syrup
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon optional
  • 2 tbsp purified water
  • 1/2 cup purified water

Instructions

  • Combine everything except 1/2 cup water in a food processor and process until mixture is smooth.
  • Add 1/4 cup water and process again until well blended. Add the remaining water if needed to reach desired consistency, thick enough to coat fruit when dipped.
  • Store in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • To serve, pour into a bowl and use sliced banana, apples and strawberries, gf pretzels, vegan marshmallows, or cookies.

Notes

Using a blender can add too much air and result in a fluffy consistency rather than silky smooth sauce. If you need to use a blender, use on a lower speed.
To make a mousse, use a blender on high and only add 1/4 cup of water.
